Salad

I really need to stop being so lazy and write more here. It’s not like I don’t have anything to say, in fact this entry is about a little bit of this and that, all things I should have posted individually.

Yesterday was my mom’s birthday and I decided to surprise her with a cake. The plan was to make this. The cake came out so little I had to make another one, using my usual recipe. The chocolat cream took me a while too, as I misread the quantities.
Eventually the cake was ready but it was not as tasty as it looked. All because of the stupid chocolat with the weird taste. Next time, screw the recipe, I’m going to do it my own way.

I’ve also been busy trying to finish the birthday presents for the kids I babysit. I have to say, making the gifts myself, was one of the greates ideas I’ve ever had :D
Besides the fact that all those plastic games are super expensive, I wanted to gave them something they’d remember, not just a gift they’d play for one hour before breaking/forgetting it. Something to play with, inside and outside. Dress up seemed like a good choice to me, a ballerina tutu and a superhero cape became my targets.
After a small search on the internet I found this useful tutorial for the tutu, little girls love this kind of things (actually, not only little girls. My sister, my mom and I were all like “ohh, that’s so pretty I want one!” Hehe). Here is what she got today:

And for the little guy I made a Batman cape – just because the batman logo was easier to copy than any other. I’m sure that, as a two year old, he doesn’t even know who Batman is.

I’m so happy they both liked the costumes. Unfortunately I only got one decent shot of the dude, trying to arrage it so that the logo whould show up (obviously it didn’t quite work out that way):

Lastly, I decided I want to buy myself an iPod. Nothing fancy, just because my mp3 is about to die. I’m thinking the iPod Shuffle, so I can save up for the 50mm lens. Oh and blue of course :P
